To acquaint students with methods and issues relevant to the application of psychology to health-related intervention, the way people are affected psychologically by illness and disease, various behaviors and cognitions affecting health and illness.

This course will facilitate students to apply psychological theories, scientific psychological findings, and techniques of psychotherapy, behavior modification, cognitive, interpersonal, family, and life-style therapy to improve the psychological and physical health of the patient. Students will be able to acquire better communication skills between patients and families of patients.
