This course aims to engage students with the exploration of different materials and in a discourse about three-dimensional thinking. The course also aims for students to develop both a conceptual understanding and a practical knowledge of the ways in which three-dimensional forms function on a visual level. This is a studio course exploring the fundamentals of the formal systems and basic elements of visual organization through three-dimensional design principles and theories using a variety of materials. It is designed to expand students’ understanding of design theory as it relates to three-dimensional forms and to develop their critical thinking skills.
